The number of patients taking oral anticoagulation (predominantly warfarin in the UK) has increased considerably over the past few years. This is largely related to the increasing numbers of patients with non-rheumatic atrial fibrillation being treated with warfarin.1 This article discusses the potential benefits of an annual review anticoagulation clinic (ARAC) to facilitate optimum care for patients on warfarin therapy.
